MUINE to NGA TRANG ~journeys 2010: journal with pfotos~May22, 2010

May 22: You leave Mui Ne and the 'excellent' room. It was excellent. Except that with all the blackouts and no natural 'through' ventilation you're glad to see the back of it! Blackouts are a widespread nuisance in Vietnam at the moment. There's a generator at the Ngac Thi guest house but they don't run it. Probably it's because it's the low season with only about 4 suffering guests. Nice to have a modern, cheap place in a good location. But it doesn't add up to much if there's no power!

You enjoy an uneventful, prone, daytime sleeping-bus trip up the coast to Nha Trang. It's a jewel in the crown of Vietnam's tourist industry along with Ha Long and Sapa. What photogenic villages on the way! Buildings and landscapes! To do them justice though you need your own transport. Rent a motorcycle. Then you can stop at will. Maybe next time! You've not had a camera on previous journeys on the cheap in Vietnam before. You're convinced that Vietnam's one of the most photogenic countries. Just when you have to think..job, job, job! Because the cash is getting very low.
